I feel like I’ve really started to make some progress in my hooping recently. I’m more in tune with my flow these days - I just need to work on letting go more. I want to capture the moments when I’m hooping at the rec because that’s the place that I grow the most, but I would feel terribly awkward bringing in my laptop to record myself haha. However, I have caught a few guys coming out of the weight room to watch me, and some have even owned up to recording me so I guess it wouldn’t be too weird.
Anyway, I’m mostly working on off body movements at the moment, I don’t nearly have enough of that down yet and I want to learn so much. Specifically I’ve been trying to master chest and back rolls - they are so frustrating! I think I need to be using a heavier hoop instead of trying to learn with my polys, those little devils move to fast!

I was at the rec yesterday hula-ing away to make up for being sick this week and a girl came down the stairs and walked up to me. I took out my headphones and she told me she hooped too! I was so happy that I finally met someone at school that works out and hoops!! She also informed me that after 9 there are classrooms with walls of mirrors that they let you in. I had no idea they were even available for access after a certain hour! I now have a hooping buddy to learn with :D!
OH! And I’m getting so much closer to getting vertical chest hooping down, WEEEEEEE.
